Location: Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Area: Shagbark
Tucked among the trees in the peaceful Shagbark community of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Whispering Oak is a classic log cabin with modern conveniences. This 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom cabin can sleep up to 10 guests and boasts 2,100+ square feet, great for a fun family getaway, a trip with your friends, or even a fun couples’ retreat!
Spend days relaxing on the decks, with a gas grill for cookouts, a bubbling hot tub, a porch swing, rocking chairs, and a picnic table perfect for outdoor meals. Enjoy fresh air, the serenity of the woods, and the beauty of mountain life from the comfort and privacy of your beautiful Smoky Mountain cabin.
Then step inside to the lovely interior of Whispering Oak to soak in the jetted or garden tubs, cozy up by the fireplace and host movie night (with DVD and Blu-ray players) in the living room, whip up meals in the fully equipped kitchen, play pool in the game room, surf the web via the wireless internet, and just hang out together! The cabin also boasts conveniences like a washer/dryer, a mix of bedding — 3 kings, 1 queen futon, and 1 queen sleeper sofa — and access to the community pool for summertime splashes!
Living Room
After traveling to the Smokies or spending a full day in town, the living room is a nice space to kick back for a while. Wood floors, walls, and ceiling welcome you into the main living space. Tall windows frame the beautiful trees outside and let in natural light during the day. A ceiling fan keeps guests comfortable on warmer days, and the stacked stone (gas) fireplace is perfectly cozy on cool winter nights.
For entertainment, switch on the TV and pop in a DVD or Blu-ray disc to watch a movie together while lounging on the sofas (one doubles as a queen sleeper). Keep parmesan-topped popcorn, soda pop, and freshly baked cookies on the log coffee table. Or make it a cozier evening, with a roaring fire, a good book or a great friend, and a glass of wine picked up along the Rocky Top Wine Trail.
Kitchen
Outfitted with major and minor appliances, plenty of counter space, pots and pans, dishware, glasses, cutlery, and more, the kitchen at Whispering Oak is fully equipped with everything you need to help prep, cook, and serve meals, snacks, and drinks on your Smoky Mountain vacation. A full kitchen is a great convenience to have at your Pigeon Forge cabin.
Keep fresh ingredients from the local farmers market in the fridge, fry bacon and eggs on the stove, brew single cups or pots of joe anytime, bake treats in the oven, and reheat leftovers in the microwave to save cash on takeout. Not to mention, there’s a handy dishwasher to handle the messes!
Dining Area
Just off the kitchen and near the living room, the dining area is inviting for mealtimes together. Square-shaped and log-style, the table is great for eating, chatting, and laughing with family and friends. Plus, with tall windows showcasing the scenic trees outside, it’s a lovely space to enjoy meals and board games at your Pigeon Forge cabin rental.
Quite versatile, the dining table is useful for setting up a temporary homeschool station to keep up with studies or a workspace to stay on top of important tasks while away. It’s the perfect spot to host your midnight cocktail party or set up a birthday bash — complete with presents and a huge cake! And it’s ideal for gathering everyone to discuss the plan for a day of sightseeing.
Game Room
Ready for more fun? Head downstairs to the game room that features more views of the trees, a TV, a pub table, a multicade arcade game, and a plump sofa. Shoot pool into the night, lounge with a good book, watch entertainment, or share a pack of cold ones and a card game with your bestie.
Bedrooms
Playing at Dollywood, bouncing at TopJump, or shopping in The Old Mill District can leave you tuckered out and ready for bed. Whispering Oak features 3 inviting bedrooms — each with a TV, a king-size log bed, and classic cabin furnishings. There’s also a queen-size futon and a private balcony in the main bedroom! You can wake up to fresh mountain air and sway in the rockers every morning.
Before slipping into bed, draw yourself a hot bubble bath in the garden tub or opt for extra spa time in the indoor jetted tub. Add a fun podcast and flickering candles, and you’ll have a very relaxing evening. There are 3 full bathrooms in the home, ideal for your group of 10 or fewer. And you’ll find a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room for additional sleeping space.
Outdoor Spaces
Multiple deck spaces with peaceful views of the towering trees can be enjoyed at Whispering Oak. Sip a cup of joe while the birds sing, sway on the porch swing with your spouse, fire up the gas grill for a mountain cookout, and dine at the picnic table at this semi-private cabin in Pigeon Forge.
When you want to relax in nature, slip into your swimsuit and hop in the bubbly hot tub with massaging jets! Enjoy watching lush trees dance in the summer breezes, colorful leaves fall in autumn, snow blanket the forest in winter, and birds fly in spring.
To note, the driveway is steep and paved with parking for 2, and there’s only 1 step up to get into the cabin, a great convenience when unloading or packing the cars.
Other Amenities
Along with fun and relaxing amenities, Whispering Oak provides a washer and dryer and free Wi-Fi for guest use. Plus, as a member of the Shagbark community, you’ll have full access to community amenities! Swim at the summertime pool, play tennis whenever you want, take the kiddos to the playground, and hang out at the pavilion.
