Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption
You will be reimbursed for non-refundable payments (up to $100,000) if cancelling for a covered reason If your trip is cut short, you will be reimbursed for airfare costs to return home in addition to any unused non-refundable payments. Covered cancellations or interruptions include: sickness, injury or death (to you, a family member, or a traveling companion), uninhabitability of the destination vacation rental or your primary residence due to natural disaster, extension of school year, armed services leave revocation, involuntary termination of employment, or other specific reasons listed in the Policy/Certificate of Insurance.
Missed Connection
Should you encounter a missed connection due to any hinderance of a common carrier or documented weather conditions that results in a departure delay of 3+ hours, reimbursement for further transportation costs will be covered.
Trip Delay
This portion of the insurance is worth up to $750 with a $200 daily limit. It provides provisions for items that are considered reasonable (including meals, hotel accommodations, and transportation) if you are delayed for 6 hours or more — due to a covered travel hazard — while en route to, during, or returning from your trip.
Baggage Delay
Coverage of up to $1,000 ($200 per day) applies to the emergency purchase of necessity-type items, including sports equipment. This portion of the coverage goes into effect if the delay is 12 hours or more. You may purchase clothing, toiletries, and other essentials with this portion of the insurance coverage.
Lost or Stolen Items
Permanently losing precious possessions isn’t very fun, especially when you can’t afford to replace them, which is why this policy includes reimbursement (up to $1,250) for lost, stolen, or damaged items (including sporting equipment).
Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical
You and your traveling companions are covered up to $25,000 each in the event any of you experience a medical emergency resulting from an accidental injury or sickness that occurs during the trip. You and your traveling companions are also covered up to $1,000 each during the trip for emergency dental treatment.
Accidental Death
If a loss occurs due to accidental injury or death during the trip, the policy will pay a percentage of the maximum benefit amount ($100,000).
Emergency Medical Evacuation
Expenses for emergency transportation to the nearest hospital by air or land are covered up to $525,000 per person. Additionally, if the insured is hospitalized for over 7 days, round trip economy airfare is provided for a companion to visit. And if the worst should happen, repatriation of remains is also covered.
Rental Car Damage
Renting a car this trip? Then you’ll certainly appreciate reimbursement for repair and rental charges (up to $25,000 per car) should the vehicle become damaged or get stolen.
