The Vintage Views of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains will occur on September 25, 2010. It will be held in the John Sevier Room at the Gatlinburg Inn that is located at 755 Parkway in Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg Inn was the third major hotel built in the Gatlinburg area and is a perfect location for the Vintage Views event since so much history surrounds this structure as well.
The movie clips were collected from home movies made by prominent families from the Gatlinburg area using “old time” cameras. Before the movie there will be a cheese and wine reception complete music. Be sure you’re there because this reception will begin at 5pm. At 6pm a “Meet the Author” session will begin featuring local history writers. The movie screening will begin at 7pm. Terri McCarter Waters will be displaying her work in the Pioneer Room of the Gatlinburg Inn. Her family were settlers for the Gatlinburg area and her work will add to the “Vintage Views” look of the event.
