With the heat of summer upon us, it’s hard to imagine that fall is right around the corner. Autumn is one of the most popular times to visit Gatlinburg, with the changing of the leaves coloring the beautiful Smoky Mountains. The cooler air welcomes guests and families as they explore the Gatlinburg Parkway and venture into the fall foliage at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If you’re ringing in the season of fall in Gatlinburg, you won’t want to miss the Taste of Autumn event on September 15th!
Held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, this event draws more than twenty-five of the area’s finest restaurants and businesses. Showcasing the best of Gatlinburg’s food, admission is $25 dollars, with all proceeds going to benefit the United Way of Sevier County. One admission will get you in and provide unlimited sampling from all vendors at the event – plus great live entertainment! A fall time tradition for the past thirteen years, the number of visitors and vendors has been growing with each event.
Whether you’re a Gatlinburg newbie or regular, you will find new favorite eateries to visit at this event. Past participants have included No Way Jose’s, Gatlinburger, Smoky Mountain Brewery, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and Calhoun’s. This festival is a great way to sample some of the area’s different restaurants and find a new favorite dish. Whether you’re in the mood for a light appetizer or delicious dessert, you will find anything and everything at this event. Make sure you come hungry – there’s plenty of food to go around!
You won’t go thirsty at this event either, as Knoxville Coca-Cola has been sponsoring the event since its early years. Get your fill of delicious original Coca-Cola, Sprite, or Diet Coke at this festival. The Smoky Mountain Winery has also participated in recent years, offering tastings of their delicious Mountain Red Wine and Muscadine White Wine.
There is plenty of entertainment to be had at this event, as well. Live music and great food go hand in hand, and past performers have included Karen Johns & Company, a musical artist who has wowed concert goers away with beautiful jazz music. The Temptations Revue have also performed in the past, blowing festival attendees away with original vocalists and billboard topping hits. You won’t want to miss this family-friend event whose proceeds go to a wonderful cause!
