On July 4, 2010 be sure to get your spot in downtown Gatlinburg for the Stand Here Fireworks Finale. There are thousands of people that make their way to downtown for this event. It was voted as one of the top 20 events by the Southeast Tourism Society. The fireworks will start shortly after 10 pm and last about 20 minutes. No seat is a bad seat, you might even be able to see fireworks from your Gatlinburg cabin (if it has a view of downtown, of course).
Since this event is so popular you’ll need to get to town to claim your seat. The best place to see them will be from the Parkway unless you have a rented cabin. People will be spread out from traffic light #3 to the Sky Lift. The fireworks shoot 500 feet up in the sky and burst into magnificent colors and shapes.
Stop by some of the local shops while you wait for the fireworks show to start but remember to have someone save your seat. Grab a snack from one of the unique Gatlinburg stores and get ready for the show. It will be an impressive array of colors that everybody is sure to enjoy.
