The new slope in Ober Gatlinburg is finally complete, and everyone is ecstatic to try it out for themselves! With voting for the name of the new slope finished, anticipation for the winter opening is steadily growing. After narrowing the choices down to four, Ober Gatlinburg has finally announced the official name of their new slope – Yetis’ Run! Gaining 30.84% of the votes, Yeti’s Run was the voter’s favorite, although it’s clear it was a close contest! It’s also clear that many people were interested. In fact, more than 200 people sent in names that they had chosen for the new slope.
Along with the guests, the owners of Ober Gatlinburg are thrilled about the opening of Yeti’s Run! They are eager for guests to experience the new run and for them to enjoy all of the new events that will take place because of the new space provided.
About Yeti’s Run
Yeti’s Run is an advanced run, which means that it is reserved for experienced skiers and snowboarders. It will split off east from Black lift, which transports both skiers and snowboarders down a 635-foot run! The impressive new slope is a whopping 45 feet in width. With this amount of space, you won’t likely find the slope too crowded.
The new run will bring skiers and riders to Mogul Ridge, Grizzly, or Upper Bear Run. There are so many choices that you will love to try. Yeti’s Run is also 100% capable of making snow! Ready for new features? If you were excited about the snow features, you will be pleased to know that this new run will also have plenty of lighting for night skiing! There is no better way to experience beautiful Gatlinburg than at night when the mountains and stars become the focal point. Night skiing and snowboarding are tons of fun and can’t be found at just any ski resort – skiing and snowboarding in the daytime will never be the same again!
What makes this new slope even more exciting is that it’s the first new slope since 1987! That means that Yeti’s Run is the newest slope in almost three decades! Locals and visitors have been awaiting the opening of this slope since it was first announced last year!
The president of Ober Gatlinburg, Bruce Anders, is pleased at all of the new land that is now available because of Yeti’s Run opening. This new skiing area will provide space for many different events!
