Autumn Color in the Smokies
The colors of fall are at their peak in October. The Great Smoky Mountains is absolutely one of the most beautiful places to view fall color as reds, oranges and yellows paint the landscape. Check the fall color schedule ahead of time and enjoy drives, picnics and scenic overlooks when you get here.
Ripley's Fright Nights
Ripley's Haunted Adventure offers frights and thrills year round, but during its special Fright Nights in October, guests will get an extra treat. There is a new, unique theme each year that has different characters and decorations. Each night during Ripley's Fright Nights will begin with a character parade. There is no extra charge for the special Fright Nights.
Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair
Featuring talented artists from across the country, the Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair is a showcase of unique art, including pottery, quilts, wood carvings, jewelry, ceramics and more. Artists will be on hand demonstrate their work, and the art will also be on display and for sale. This local event has been named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southern U.S. by the Southeast Tourism Society. Spend a day browsing and buying some unique treasures.
Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival
Throughout autumn, shops will be decorated for the season and many festivals and activities will fill the schedule. The Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival will feature great food, music, art and culture. It's a great time to be in the Smokies.
