2011 Old Mill Heritage Day

The Smoky Mountain region carries with it a rich heritage and culture. Likewise, the communities around the Smokies have helped establish the rustic, down-home atmosphere and mountain culture that hold strong throughout the region. Pigeon Forge is one such community, and with the upcoming Heritage Day event at the city's Old Mill landmark, this is one area that is showcasing some of the culture that has helped to make the Smokies such a unique place! This year the 8th annual Old Mill Heritage Day is set for September 24th. From 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening, there

Personalized Wood Signs in Gatlinburg

One of our family’s favorite possessions is our family sign. We purchased our first wood sign not long after we married, and in a matter of five years four more little wooden signs hung under ours with the name of each sweet son and darling daughter. Here are a few of the wood sign makers along the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. You can peruse each one and choose which you like best. Another idea is to simply choose the one closest to where you are staying, placing your order on your way into town that day, and picking it up

Have you ever wondered what the Gatlinburg area was like before the shops, stores and restaurants came to be? In the early years, the area was filled with eager settlers yearning to build their homes and businesses from the ground up. Prominent people and their families such as E.E. One of the most popular automobile sight-seeing routes is the Roaring Fork Motor Trail.
