First Independence Day Parade in the Nation
July 3-4, 2015
The first 4th of July parade in the nation kicks off at midnight in Gatlinburg! This year will mark the 40th year of the parade that honors military veterans and U.S. heroes. More than 100,000 people are expected to be in attendance, watching and cheering on the parade participants from the streets of Gatlinburg. The parade will feature floats, live entertainment, and more! What a great way to kick off the holiday and honor those who have given so much for our country!
Gatlinburg’s Fireworks Finale
July 4, 2015
Named a Top 20 event by the Southeast Tourism Society, the fireworks finale on the 4th of July in Gatlinburg will be a display you don’t want to miss! The fantastic fireworks show will be a great end to a wonderful celebration in this exciting mountain town.
Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta
July 4, 2015
Held at noon on the 4th of July, the Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta is a family-friendly competition for all ages. Contestants will place their unmanned rafts on the Little Pigeon River at the Christ in the Smokies bridge on River Road. Anything floatable can be entered, beginning at 10 a.m., and trophies will be given for the winners! The regatta is sponsored by the City of Gatlinburg Special Events Office and the Gatlinburg Recreation Department. Building a raft together would be a great family activity for kids of all ages!
Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair
July 17-26, 2015
Put on by the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair showcases the work of local craftsmen and artisans who work year-round along the 8-mile loop in Gatlinburg. In July, this summer event is a great way to beat the heat and pick up some awesome souvenirs. Admission is free, and guests can watch many of the artisans create their work before choosing the perfect piece to buy!
