Shark Race In Gatlinburg

On Saturday, September 25, 2010 sharks will enter the Little Pigeon River and race downstream for the chance to win $10,000 for their sponsors. The sharks aren’t real sharks, they’re rubber sharks that will have been purchased by donors wishing to support a good cause. Vintage Views Of Gatlinburg & Smoky Mountains

The Vintage Views of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains will occur on September 25, 2010. It will be held in the John Sevier Room at the Gatlinburg Inn that is located at 755 Parkway in Gatlinburg. The Gatlinburg Inn was the third major hotel built in the Gatlinburg area and is a perfect location for the Vintage Views event since so much history surrounds this structure as well. Stringtime In The Smokies

Midnight Parade 2010

For the past 35 years Gatlinburg Tennessee has held a Midnight Independence Day Parade. It is one of the most anticipated events for Gatlinburg locals and attracts nearly 100,000 visitors every year. The streets of Gatlinburg are closed late on July 3rd and at the stroke of midnight on July 4th the parade will start winding it’s way through downtown Gatlinburg. This parade is extensive with over 100 different floats, groups, balloons, etc. and stretches over one mile in length. There will be many different decorative floats entered into the parade by the different local shops, visitors, and military personnel.

Stand Here Fireworks Finale 2010

On July 4, 2010 be sure to get your spot in downtown Gatlinburg for the Stand Here Fireworks Finale. There are thousands of people that make their way to downtown for this event. It was voted as one of the top 20 events by the Southeast Tourism Society. The fireworks will start shortly after 10 pm and last about 20 minutes.
