The directions
were great, as well as the condition of the cabin
(cleanliness). The first time we ventured up the
mountain was a hoot with all the curves in the road!!!
We called the office a couple times to ask a question
and to let Simone know that one of the outlets wasn't
working (we thought the toaster was the culprit) - what
gems they are in the office! they were willing to have a
new toaster dropped off, but it wasn't necessary as
another outlet handled it fine!
We had the most relaxing holiday in years! The attached
pictures of the sky were just a couple greats! We were
celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and wanted to
go somewhere to do nothing (if we chose to). I think we
only came down the mountain 3 times in the whole week
that we were there. My husband took a nap every chance
he could (pictures). My "happy place" is making quilts
and I have a quilt that needs to be done before Labor
Day - so I HAD to bring all the stuff down with us...

The amenities that we added to our package (a breakfast,
a lunch and a dinner) were fabulous! We found out that
the lunch was the only thing they got delivered one day
as their business burnt to the ground on the previous
day! We had no idea when she pulled up for the last
delivery until she let us know. Her fortitude of getting
the deliveries out was amazing!
The only 'tourist' type of things that we did was go to
the Dixie Stampede and go across the mountain into
Cherokee, NC. Other than that, we watched some movies,
read a book, soaked in the hot tub (a couple of the days
the heat did NOT need to be on...), slept, ate, and
watched a whole lot of tv and the backs of our eyelids!
I think we accomplished our goal of relaxing. We're
always on the go and don't take the time out we need. We
made ourselves do it last week. My family wanted me to
take pictures of everything, so I did (vacationing
vicariously through us). I think the only things I
didn't take pictures of was downstairs, because the only
time we were down there was in the dark watching
movies!!!
Both of us mentioned that we would gladly do this again
and will definitely keep y'all in mind when we do!
